Dear Middle School Parents,

As we are approaching the end of the school year, there are a few things parents need to keep in mind. Students will need to return all textbooks, library books, sports uniform and any other items issued by the school. Everything needs to be settled before we can release the documents and before students get their yearbook.

For those families that are leaving, please complete the Request for Transfer Certificate Form in the Middle School Office by Friday, 18 May. Please note that we will only issue hard copy trimester reports to students who are leaving AISC on the last day of school, Friday, 1 June. All other report cards will be open on PowerSchool the following week.

Middle School Coffee, Tuesday, May 1, 8:45-9:45 am (Hall of Light)

Join us for a special coffee to share and discuss parent feedback on the climate survey regarding how AISC prioritizes learning and challenges our students. This coffee is focused on program and practices in the middle school. There will be time for questions and input of parent perspective. 

Looking ahead, we have several events taking place the following week...

Please join us at the opening reception for our Middle School Art Exhibition on May 8th from 3:45 to 4:45 pm. This show is for all middle school art students, showcasing at least one amazing work by each student who took an art course this year in middle school. Works displayed will include paintings, sculptures, mixed-media creations, and technology projects. We encourage everyone to come see the show! The exhibition will continue from May 8th to May 18th.

MS Music Concert

Please note that we have postponed the Choir and Strings on May 4th. We will combine it with the Band Concert on May 10 at 2:00pm to make a Music Concert. Make a note of this change in your calendar.

ASIAC Basketball and Swimming

We will be hosting these two events from May 11 - 12. If you are on campus on Friday, May 11, please come to the Unity Courtyard for the Opening Ceremony at 8:30. Congratulations to all the athletes who will be representing AISC!

Dear Middle School Parents,

We’re reaching the final stretch of the year and we are starting to have our culminating assignments for students. In the meantime, help your children pace themselves for the end of the year with many projects and assignments due at the same time. On top of it all, some of their friends are departing from school as well. We encourage you to keep the line of communication open with them and check-in with them daily.

Heat and Hydration

Please know that we are very mindful as we are heading into the hot temperature season and we monitor this closely every day. Should the temperature reach 40C/104F we will not be sending our students out under the sun for PE. Should they need to be outside, PE teachers will keep it brief. While we do not prohibit students from relaxing outdoors during break and lunch we will monitor kids to ensure that they do not spend too much active free time outdoors in the heat of the day. However, regardless of limiting sun exposure, please ensure your child remains adequately hydrated in this heat by ensuring they have a named water bottle with them every day. For time outside, sunscreen and a hat are also highly encouraged.

Congratulations to the World Scholar’s Cup

The event attracted over 450 students from all over Chennai to our campus last weekend. This community event keeps growing and growing each year, making it harder and harder to go onto the next round. Without much preparation, our students did an incredible job, many qualifying for the next round in Barcelona, Kuala Lumpur, or Melbourne. Congratulations to the following students and teams who earned Global Round berths through their exceptional performance:
