Middle School Art Exhibition
Please join us at the opening reception for our Middle School Art Exhibition on Tuesday, May 10th from 3:45 to 4:45. This show is for all middle school art students, showcasing at least one amazing work from each student who is taking an art course this year in the middle school. Works displayed will include paintings, sculptures, mixed-media creations, and technology projects. We encourage everyone to come see the show! The exhibition will continue from May 10th to May 20th.

ASIAC Swimming and Basketball
The students will be leaving next week on Thursday, 12 May to the American Embassy School (AES) in Delhi. Once we have the live streaming link, we will be sure to send them out to the community. In the meantime, we wish all the students the best of luck for this friendly competition.

Parent Coffee on Tuesday, May 17 @8:45
This coffee is not on the calendar. Please join us at our upcoming parent coffee where the topic will be resilience. Resilience is that ability to recover readily from adversity. At this coffee we'll look at questions such as: What are qualities that help families through difficult or stressful times? What are some of the factors that help people to be more resilient in the face of challenges and how can we help our children to tap into those qualities when needed? We look forward to seeing you there!

Parent Book Groups

We had a successful kickoff to our Parent Book Group series with The Teenage Brain: A Neuroscientist's Survival Guide to Raising Adolescents and Young Adults. It was great to have a diverse group of parents come together to discuss the ideas that were presented in the book and how they might impact our understanding of our children and our parenting.

Our second book group choice, made by parents, is Mindful Parenting: Simple and Powerful Solutions for Raising Creative, Engaged, Happy Kids in Today's Hectic World by Kristen Race. It is available on kindle or on Amazon.in if you would like to purchase a hard copy for yourself. We will have just one meeting to discuss this book and it will be on Friday, May 20th from 2-3:30. We will meet in the MS CIC book room on the first floor. Again, all levels of English speakers are welcome - you can be involved in the discussion at whatever level you are comfortable with.

MS Strings and Choir Concert
The MS Strings and Choir classes will be putting on their end of the year concert for us on Friday, 20 May at 2:30pm in the FAC Auditorium. Please join us to listen to some beautiful music as the students show off their musical skills that they have been practicing on all year.

MS End of Year Party
There will be one last social event for Middle School students. The End of the Year Middle School Party will take place on Friday, 20 May from 4:30-6:00pm in the Cafeteria.

Our Middle School students are involved in the second yearly edition of the Orphan Bicycle Project with the  “Children’s Home India” Orphanage. Please click here, if you would like to see a quick video of last year’s first edition. This year,  AISC students along with the local children will have spent three Saturdays refurbishing bicycles together. The culminating event of the entire project is the Bike-a-thon, a fundraiser, that is scheduled for May 21st at AISC Campus from 8.30 am to 10.30 am. The proceedings will go towards the education of the local students. Parents have the opportunity to sponsor the event either through a flat (set amount) or per-lap donation. We estimate that no more than 250 laps will be done during the event. In-between May 11th and May 20th from 8.00am to 8.30am and from 3.45 pm to 4.15 pm (school days only) we will be available to answer any of your questions at the main campus entrances (ES and MS/HS). Come talk to us! Also, we would like to have a few parent volunteers for running the event on May 21st. If you are interested in helping out, please sign-up here.  Thank you and we are looking forward to seeing you!

Have a good weekend!
