Dear Parents and students,
We had another great week on campus and the big highlight of our week is we had our first in person MS Assembly since 2020 today in the Cafeteria. It was a combination of news, birthday celebrations, music and FUN!!
As we slowly add in more activities on campus, enjoy the photos below of our 6th grade students on the climbing wall.
Here is the calendar of upcoming events:
MS Parent Coffee
On April 12th we would like to invite you for a Parent Coffee on campus in Room 3124 (Ms. Gemma Adderley’s room). In this Parent Coffee we will spend some time getting reacquainted and also we will share a preview of the Challenge Success survey results as well share a wrap-up for the year.
If you are planning to attend the MS Parent Coffee, please let us know in this form so that your entry through the school gate can be smooth! We look forward to meeting in person for a Parent Coffee to join in a shared experience to support our students!
MS/HS Spring Concert
We invite the parent and student community to our MS/HS Spring concert on April 21st, at 4:30 pm. We are excited for our bands, choirs, and guitar ensembles to perform our first music concert in the theater since December 2019.
Parents who wish to attend must have their vaccination information uploaded here. If you did so already for conferences, then you are all set. Any parent who has not uploaded their vaccination status will need to show their vaccination record at the door or show an RT-PCR result no older than 72 hours. For now, we do not know if extended family members (those without a school ID) will be able to attend. We encourage family members to sit together and leave a gap in seats between family groupings. Masks will be required inside.
Doors will open at 4:20. See you there!
Elective Courses 2022/23:
It’s that time of year again - a moment to meet with your child(ren) to discuss their interests and the classes they would like to take. Please take a moment to look through the Elective Course Description 2022-23 for the current grade 6 and 7 middle school students. Students will be reviewing the electives on April 12th and choosing their electives on Tuesday, April 19th in Advisory. Please have discussions with your child before April 19th.
Math Class Choices for next year:
If your child is an independent thinker, shows extraordinary skills, and has a high level of motivation to learn mathematics, you might be interested in learning more about our process for exceptional math students here. If you have any questions please feel free to contact your child’s math teacher.
Mask wearing optional:
The low number of cases currently in Chennai, combined with other factor external metrics, and that we know the probability of transmission when outside is very low, starting Monday, April 4, using masks when outdoors on campus is optional.
Homework Club:
Repeat information: Mark your calendars: Portal Project - Parent Sessions
We are excited to introduce a speaker series for parents starting in November called Parenting Beyond the Pandemic. These virtual sessions will bring experts and practitioners directly to our parent community to address a variety of relevant topics. The full list of sessions can be found here and the titles below. Registration for the sessions will take place through Eventbrite.
Have a great weekend and enjoy Cabaret for all the participants and their families!
Take care,
Jennifer Bertram
