Friday August 21

 Dear Parents and Students,

Students have completed their first two-week learning modules for the year! The first modules in each class focused on community building, learning habits, online norms and learning to learn in each class. Our goal is that these first modules continue to develop students familiarity with our technology platforms and create supportive relationships between teachers, students and peers. If students have questions about the daily schedule, advisors can help students navigate. Questions about specific courses should be directed to individual class teachers.

Over the past week we have had opportunities to connect with parents. Our connection with you virtually supports our school-student-parent relationship which is vital to our student success. Throughout the year, links to our coffee mornings and other events will be posted in this blog.

Seventh & Eighth Grade Coffee

This week was our welcome coffee for seventh and eighth grade parents. If you were not able to join the event live, the recording is here and the slides are here. Our next parent coffee is Tuesday, September 15.

Back to School Night

Thank you to all of our parents who attended our virtual Back to School Night. The purpose of the event was for you to connect with your child’s advisor, learn what to expect in each grade level, and learn about each teacher and the class he/she teaches. If you were not able to join the event live, you can revisit the Back to School Night videos at any time by accessing the menu

UN International Day of Peace: Monday, September 21

The theme for the UN International Day of Peace this year is "Shaping Peace Together." We are working with many community members, from students in Elementary to High School and country representatives to celebrate the diverse cultures that make up our AISC community. Join us virtually on Friday, September 21, 3:00–3:30 p.m. We will share more details closer to the date.

Have a great weekend,
