Dear Parents and students,
It is so great to see students on campus this week! We really enjoyed having our students here for four days and we’re looking forward to more on campus time with them. When students are on campus with our teachers there is such a wonderful energy and excitement on our campus. As I reflect on this season of gratitude I would like to extend my appreciation to the parents, students and staff in the AISC community. I am so grateful to have this opportunity to learn together with such an inspiring group of people. Enjoy your long weekend.
Here is the calendar of upcoming events:
Return to Campus Reminders:
We have noticed an increase in the number of MS students who arrive on campus in the morning without the Parent Locker App updated. Please ensure that you are updating the Parent Locker App for each day that your child(ren) are on campus.
At this time MS students are not permitted on campus past their pick-up times in the afternoon. If you have a child/children in High School, please ensure that you have a way to take your Middle School student(s) home at the following times:
Administer COVID test to your child November 19th, upload test results, keep individual test strip in baggie and bring to school every Monday
Complete ParentLocker app questions before school Monday, November 8th
Here is the link to order the complimentary MS school lunch for next week. It should be completed by noon on Sunday.

ABOUT THE SHOW
Ah, middle school. The best/worst years of your life! The friends, the memories, the life lessons, and of course the...inevitably haunting embarrassments that will leave emotional scars for years to come! Join a group of real life middle school students as they uncover the wonders/perils of their first dance, the marvels/horrors of field trips, the joy/humiliation of gym class, and many more of the numerous fond traumatizing aspects of life as a middle school student.
Mark your calendars: Portal Project - Parent Sessions
We are excited to introduce a speaker series for parents starting in November called Parenting Beyond the Pandemic. These virtual sessions will bring experts and practitioners directly to our parent community to address a variety of relevant topics. The full list of sessions can be found here and the titles below. Registration for the sessions will take place through Eventbrite.
Upcoming Parent Survey, Monday, November 29:
On November 29 you will receive an email with a link to a survey to gather feedback on your experience with the AISC Learning Models so far this year. We welcome your thoughtful participation in this survey so we can understand key areas for celebration and growth.
RAIN AND DISASTER RELIEF
The recent rainfall has left a lot of people in Chennai and Tamil Nadu in distress and with more rains predicted, the situation does not look good, especially for vulnerable people. Bhoomika Trust is a Chennai based NGO working to provide relief and rehabilitate disaster affected people in low-lying areas. They were at the forefront of relief during the 2015 Chennai floods and 2018 Kerala floods. Bhoomika Trust is seeking support to provide relief to 50 flood affected households by donating a relief kit. Each kit will contain dry rations and toiletries for one household. Please click on the link here for more information.
The donation drive will begin Monday Nov 28 through Saturday Dec 4, 2021. Students will help pack the relief kit and the donations will be delivered in the week of Dec 6.
Have a wonderful long weekend and reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Take care,
Jennifer Bertram
