Hosting SAISA Students, from Ron Thompson
We still need your help. In just about a month from now, we will be hosting SAISA Swimming. We have approximately 150 visiting students and still need to host 40 more students. We are asking our AISC Parent Community to help us make this happen. If you can host two or more students please let us know as soon as possible. As usual we can provide transportation for those willing to host four or more students. So please let me know if you can host a coach or students at your home on 29 October to 2nd November.

Grade 7 WWW Parent Meeting
Please remember to attend this important meeting on Wednesday, 15 October at 2:45 pm in the CIC (Library). We look forward to seeing you there.

Progress Reports
Please note that the mid-semester progress report will be given to students next Friday. These grades and comments are to give parents an indication of how students are doing after the first two months of school. If there are concerns, parents can always meet with teachers throughout the year; to make an appointment with one of the teachers, please contact Ms. Aziz in the Middle School Office.

Following these reports will be the Three-Way Conferences (student, parent and teacher) on 13 and 14 November. With guidance from their teachers, students are given time in class to create their portfolios. It is completely student-driven and student-created. We encourage you to ask your children to share their e-portfolios with you. Please remember that it is still early on; therefore, students are at the early stages of building and composing their e-portfolios.

If you need help with the e-portfolios and Moodle, in the next Middle School Coffee on Tuesday, 29 October, we will help parents navigate through the ePortfolios and what to look for in each of the student blogs and how to look at Moodle pages as well.

India Week Celebration
Starting Monday, please encourage your children to come dressed  in their best Indian outfits. We will be have a India Week celebration all week with learning about Kollams, doing them, then ending the week with an assembly with a performance from dancers from outside the school.

See you at the tournament and the Diwali Mela on Saturday!
