Middle School Coffee
Please bring a friend and join us for the next coffee on Tuesday, 19 January at 8:45 in the Hall of Light. Mr. Tom Zuzulock, Technology and Learning Coach, will talk about Digital Citizenship and Safety as well as provide some resources for parents to explore further on their own.
Early Release Wednesday - January 20th
In order to support continuous professional learning and development for AISC faculty members, there are seven Early Release Wednesdays on the calendar this year. On January 20th, we will have our fifth Early Release Wednesday. As a reminder, students will be released at 1:30 p.m. and are expected to depart campus in a timely and organized fashion. We appreciate your patience. In preparation, please plan on allowing longer time for entry and exit to the school at release time. Lunch will be a quick "grab and go" sandwich on this day for our Middle and High School students. If students want a hot lunch, please remember to pack one from home.

Students have been rehearsing since August and are very excited the Middle School play. Ticket sale will be in the morning and afternoon at ES and main entrance from Friday 22nd of January until Friday 29th of January.

Information regarding Pay Online & In Person registrations
We will open online registrations on January 14th (am) and end on January 17th (pm), 2016.
Please go to (https://payonline.aisch.org/), login and register. We encourage Parents to register through Pay online. Kindly note that payments made through credit card will carry service charges. This is charged by the Bank and not the School or ASA department.
IN-PERSON REGISTRATIONS: If you have missed registering online, then in-person registrations can be done on January 18 and 19 at the Elementary Cafeteria from 8.00 am – 9.30 am.

Middle School Lego Mindstorms (Robotics) ASA
Design thinking and engineering principles will be used to solve a student created problem using Lego Mindstorms EV3 robotic kits. Students will first learn how to identify and define a problem which can be solved using robotics. This includes setting the criteria which determines how well the student-made robots solved the problem. Next, they will use the prototyping cycle to iterate and refine their Lego robots. This cycle of trial and error is critical to the design thinking process. Their solutions will be shared with the community at the celebration near the end of the semester.
Raptors Swim Club
Try-outs: Jan. 13 & 14 (3.30 - 4.30 pm). If your child has already been in Raptor's Swim Club, they do NOT need to try out again. There is likelihood that there will be two sessions of this ASA program. Session 1 will be from 3:30-4:30 for beginner and intermediate Club members and Session 2 will be from 4:30-5:30, for more advanced swimmers. If numbers are high, group division will be determined after the first week.
Flippa Ball
It is originally from Australia, is a FUN pool team game for both boys and girls in grades 3-8. It is similar to Water Polo, but it is played in the shallow end of the pool. Flippa Ball allows children have to have fun in the water while developing eye-hand coordination as well as an understanding of teamwork and strategies. This ASA requires a minimum of 12 students. If not, will cancel.
Yearbook Picture
All new students and students who missed the yearbook picture earlier in the year will take their yearbook picture on 27-28 January.

The Third Annual AISC RAPTORTHON!!!!
What better way to spend Valentine's Day than with friends and family doing something that is heart-healthy. This has proven to be a FUN event.
Raptorthon is a FUN FAMILY AND COMMUNITY EVENT that combines swimming and running. Participants will be required to swim 150m, run 1600m then jump back in the pool and swim another 150m.
Enter as an individual or as a team of two (one person swims and the other runs). The entry fee is 300 rupees per individual and 600 rupees per team. This is an AISC Community Event. Anyone grade 4 and older may participate! (Watch for more information and a sign-up link next week!!!) The money raised will be used to cover the cost of the event and any remaining money will benefit the Chennai Flood Relief.
After the event, there will be a potluck breakfast provided by the entrants. All participants will receive a certificate with their official time at the breakfast.
