Dear Middle School Parents,
Thank you for your patience and flexibility through the last few days of uncertainty. We have been working hard to ensure that we can make up lost instruction time for both students and teachers. Next Friday, 16 December, instead of a Fun Meet in the Middle School, we will be using it as a day of instruction as well.
The ASIAC Soccer Tournament has been postponed until January 20-21, 2017. Upon return from the winter break, we will publish the tournament schedule. In the meantime, let’s celebrate the students who will be playing in the tournament in January.

Celebration of Students Involvement
I would like to celebrate our middle school students and their involvement in the school activities. Of the current 188 students in the middle school, below is the data of what how many students are involved in and the number of activities and sports they are involved in as well. They are truly impressive numbers. It shows that our students can be involved and doing well in school as well.

Come, enjoy and admire the talent of the 8th grade art students' self-portrait paintings on the 1st floor of the ES/MS CIC! The students studied the artwork of Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo, and then painted their own self-portraits incorporating personal symbolism. The results are amazing.
Parent Book Group from the MS Counselor, Ms. Jen Gold
Hello MS Parents! I'll be starting our Parent Group up again in the second semester. With that in mind, I'd like to get some feedback from you on book choice and meeting format/time. Please take a moment to complete this short survey if you think you might be interested in participating. I will collect feedback until Wednesday and will notify you of our first book before we leave for winter break.
Reminder: Attention Middle School Writers, Illustrators and Speakers!
AISC is hosting the International Schools Writers Conference, which is specifically designed to allow middle school students a chance to work with a Graphic Illustrator, a Novelist or a Storyteller. This conference will be held during the weekend of February 18-19, right here on the AISC Campus.
Middle School students interested in participating in this conference please sign up here by Monday, December 12. This sign up is just an interest form. There is no fee to attend this conference for AISC students.
This is an exciting opportunity, and we already have schools joining us from Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and Hyderabad.
If you have any questions, talk to Ms. Pepper or Mr. Jet. Middle School students will also learn more about this in their Language Arts classes.
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Alan Phan & Andrew Ranson
