Dear Middle School Parents,
Whether you are staying in Chennai or traveling for
Spring Break, we wish you a wonderful and restful break. We have several
important events coming up after the break.
Middle School Theater Production - Save the Date -
11-12 April
Students have been rehearsing for months for the Middle School play, “Switching
Principals,” and the opening date is coming very soon. Please save the date
for one of the afternoon shows (Wednesday, 11 April at 4pm; Thursday, 12 April at 5:00pm). More details will follow after Spring Break.
E-Portfolio
Presentations and Conferences: Save the Date - 13 April
There is a
change in the schedule for this year. Students will have the E-Portfolio
presentation in the morning followed by drop-in Parent-Student-Teacher
conferences on Friday, 13 April. Students will have either a 8:30-9:15 or
9:30-10:15 E-Portfolio presentation slot. Parent-Student-Teacher conferences
will begin at 10:15. Student must be present during these conferences. Please
also remember to keep conferences to about 10 minutes as other parents will be
waiting to see the teacher also.
Writing Assessment Program (WrAP) Test
In the first week of April, students in the Middle School will complete
a standardized writing assessment. WrAP asks students to respond to a writing
prompt in two timed writing sessions administered over consecutive days—closely
replicating the natural writing process of drafting, revising, and completing a
final version. Due to the nature of the test, children who are newer to
learning English may not be required to take this test. The data we receive
from such tests helps us re-evaluate our teaching and learning programs
allowing us to make further improvements to better meet our student’s learning
needs.

payment at the cash counter and submit the form at the respective section
office.
The
last day for orders is 28 March 2018. Prints will be ready for pick up after 16
April 2018. If you have any questions about the ordering process, please
contact the HS/MS office.

chosen meeting format, also based on the parent survey, will be to meet for
